2022 was my second year at Moonshine. I was still a newcomer, and it was my first time participating in the company's T-shirt design competition. It happened to be the company's 10th anniversary that year, which was also a big deal for the company.

Since graduate school, I have loved creating images that can tell stories. This has always been my goal. Although I am not an artist with a drawing specialty, I still enjoy the process of creating characters. However, in a product-oriented advertising company, there are very few jobs that allow me to design characters. So I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity, which has almost no restrictions, to stretch my creative muscles. I used the company's four cats as inspiration to create four cat characters. They come from a magical world where people can use their own spiritual power to control PIXA particles to create new objects. This has also led to many professions, such as sculptors, who use spiritual control to generate physical objects. In my industry, this corresponds to modelers or digital sculptors. Similarly, there are also puppeteers and illusionists. There are also people with multiple abilities, who usually have strong spiritual power and are called the creators.

These four cats are animal characters that assist the protagonist in this world. Before becoming the protagonist's travel companions, they were bootleggers, which is also the origin of the mechanical dog behind them. It was used to transport the moonshine. And the another English word for bootleg liquor also happens to be the name of our company, which is a response to this.
